Are MedBill-IQ’s services free?

Depends on your plan. If you choose our free plan you will be charged $148 as a processing fee and you will be charged 30% of the total savings. You will only be charged if we are able to save you money. If you choose one of our paid memberships you won't be charged a processing fee or commission fee.

How do I opt-in for you to negotiate my bills? What do you need to negotiate my bill?

You can opt-in to have us negotiate bills on your behalf by filling out the document that is attached to your savings assessment or by downloading our mobile apps.

What happens when I opt-in? How do I start working with you?

When you opt-in, an associate will work with you to gather as much information as possible to negotiate your bill. We are committed to giving you full transparency on your cases. Once we reach an agreement with your medical providers, we will send you a confirmation of your savings.

Can your services reduce negative marks on my credit score?

We can in most cases.

How long does it usually take to negotiate my bill?

Our free bill review usually takes approximately 5 business days depending on the complexity of the bills. Appealing and negotiating your bills is a longer process since it takes time for healthcare providers to process incoming documents. Full resolution of your bill can take up to 3-6 weeks.

Will you help me facilitate payment with my provider?

Yes, only if you are paying by credit card. You can sign a credit card authorization form that allows us to pay your medical bills. Our goal is to make the process as easy as possible.

Will you have access to my personal health information?

We will only have access to the information and documents you provide us. When you first sign up with us, you will be asked to sign a release of information form that would allow us to view your pertinent personal health information (PHI). This allows us to review the documents you submitted and negotiate payment on your behalf.The PHI authorization form is valid for one year from date of signature. You can also limit the information available to us by specifying individual providers or specific dates of service. The authorization form is available here.

How do I get my documents to you?

Upload them in our secure portal, or email, fax, or mail them to us. Please only mail copies of original documents since no documents will be returned.

What is the minimum amount you would review?

There is no minimum amount to use our service. We believe everybody should have an opportunity to reduce their healthcare expense. No bill is too small or big for our services.

Is there a fee if there you are unable to reduce my bill?

No, you will not be charged if we are unable to save you money.
